The protection of your personal data is especially important to us. We only process personal data where this is necessary to provide a functional website along with our content and services. As a rule, personal data is processed only with your consent or where the processing is permitted by law.

The core principle of immotap

All calculations performed by our real estate tools run exclusively locally in your browser (client-side). No input data is transmitted to our servers in the process. We do not store any personal data arising from your use of the calculators.

Vercel

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Baxter St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA. When you access our website, the hosting provider automatically records information in so-called server log files, which your browser transmits automatically. This includes:

• IP address (anonymised)
• Date and time of the request
• Browser type and version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL
• Page accessed

This data is collected to ensure the smooth operation of the website. This data is not merged with other data sources.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the secure and efficient provision of the website).

Transfer to third countries: Vercel processes data in the EU and the USA. The transfer to the USA takes place on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (DPF), under which Vercel is certified. You can find further information in Vercel’s privacy policy.

Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics for the anonymous evaluation of how our website is used. Vercel Web Analytics collects exclusively aggregated, anonymised data and uses no cookies. No personal data is stored, no IP addresses are recorded and no fingerprinting is used.

The following is recorded exclusively:

• Page views (aggregated)
• Referral source (referrer)
• Country/region (based on anonymised IP attribution)
• Device type, operating system, browser (aggregated)

Since no personal data is processed, this use is based on our legitimate interest. You can object to the analysis at any time via our notice banner (opt-out); the website works without restriction even without web analytics.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the statistical analysis of website usage). You can withdraw your objection at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage.

YouTube (enhanced privacy mode)

On our website we embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). In doing so we use exclusively the enhanced privacy mode (youtube-nocookie.com).

In enhanced privacy mode, YouTube does not set any cookies for tracking purposes simply when the page loads. Only once you actively play an embedded video is data transmitted to YouTube. In this case, the following data may be transmitted:

• IP address
• The page accessed that contains the embedded video
• Browser type and version
• Information about your YouTube or Google account (if you are logged in)

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in embedding video content for an appealing presentation of our content).

Transfer to third countries: A transfer of data to the USA may occur. Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Our website does not use any marketing or tracking cookies. Only technically necessary cookies that are required for the operation of the website are used (e.g. session management, authentication).

Vercel Web Analytics works entirely without cookies.

Consent preference: Your choice in the consent banner is stored in your browser’s local storage (key: immotap-analytics-consent). This is technically necessary so that we do not have to ask for your preference again on a repeat visit, and does not constitute processing of personal data.

YouTube embeds (youtube-nocookie.com) do not set any cookies when the page loads. Cookies can only be set once a video is actively played.

Legal basis for technically necessary cookies and local storage: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest) in conjunction with § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act).

If you contact us by email, the data you provide (email address and, where applicable, your name and the content of your message) is stored by us in order to process your request.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in processing enquiries) or Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures).

We delete the data arising in this context once it is no longer required for storage, or we restrict the processing where statutory retention obligations apply.

We offer a free WordPress plugin (immotap calculators). To receive the download link, you can leave your email address on the corresponding plugin page. Providing it is voluntary and serves solely to send you the download.

Data collected:

• Email address (mandatory)
• Name (optional)
• Website or domain (optional)
• Referrer URL
• Time of the request and of the consent given
• IP address (only when the download link is opened, see below)

Purpose of the processing: Sending you the personal download link for the free WordPress plugin and providing proof of the consent you have given.

Storage: The data listed above is stored in our database (MongoDB Atlas, EU region). The associated download link contains a random token that is valid for 7 days.

Email delivery (Mailgun)

We send the download link via the service Mailgun (Mailgun Technologies, Inc., 112 E Pecan St. #1135, San Antonio, TX 78205, USA, operated via the EU infrastructure). In doing so, your email address, your name (if provided) and the download link are transmitted to Mailgun. Mailgun processes the data exclusively for the purpose of sending the email, via servers in the EU (EU endpoint).

Confirmation: Only once you open the download link sent to you by email do we store the time and your IP address. This serves as proof of your consent and as protection against misuse of the form.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, for example by email to kontakt [at] mail.immotap.de.

Retention period: We store the data for as long as this is necessary to provide the download and as proof of consent. On request, we will delete your data at any time.

Processing on our behalf: We have concluded data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR with MongoDB, Inc. (database hosting, MongoDB Atlas, EU region) and Mailgun Technologies, Inc. (email delivery, EU endpoint). The form uses no cookies and no tracking.
